About The Invention

Introducing the Electric Heating Mat

This electronic heating mat device is a system with an electrical wire sandwiched between two layers of electrically insulating, heat conductive material and a thermostat. It is made of a soft rubber/foam type material. The mat comes in 16 different sizes with thickness between 4 and 6 inches. Sizes range from 18” x 30” being the smallest and 216” x 120” (10’ x 18’) being the largest and is intended to hold animals up to 2000 pounds.

It is intended for several uses. The first use is a mat to keep animals from freezing to the ground at night causing considerable cost to farmers, as the animals must then be destroyed. This mat keeps the animals and their newborn comfortably warm and is adjustable through the thermostat.

Another intended use for the mat is for people that are displaced due to emergency situations and being in camps created because of storms, earthquakes, etc. The mat can keep families from freezing and is waterproof making it safer than mattresses which can harbor insects. It is designed so that it can lay on a 2”x 6”board cut to the width of the steel frame which is covered with a sheet of plywood.

The mat has cinches and straps on the end, which allow the mats to be rolled up tightly, and secured with the straps for easy transport. While on the ground the mats can be moved with the side handles.

About the Inventor

JR Bighorn Gustaphson
Electric Heating Mat

The inventor, JR Gustafson of Anchorage, AK had an idea to prevent needless destruction of valuable livestock due to freezing to the ground. JR contacted the Mars Rising Network and had a provisional and design patent application led and had the invention designed properly so that he may see success with this great idea and turn it into a real product. He is actively seeking a company that would have an interest in licensing the product for a royalty.
