About The Invention

The “Senight” Allergy Sensor is a portable device that can help identify dangerous allergens in pre-prepared food in restaurants and other food establishments.

This Patent Pending invention is an improvement to an already existing product. The device is a handheld allergy sensor that enables individuals with an allergy to avoid eating allergens which can cause them to be extremely ill.

The handheld device uses the NIR spectroscopy technology to collect data from food and report the findings. It will be configured to read any molecules that match the devices internal database.

It is simple to use, simply pull the device out of your purse or pocket, turn it on and scan the food in a slow sweeping motion about 8” above the food. Once a scan has been accepted, the “Senight” Allergy Sensor will display the results on the backlit LCD.  The results are shown with the accuracy and likelihood of allergens.

Sometimes food-servers say there is no glutenin the dish, but how do they know for sure? Those with food allergies will be able to eat out at restaurants again with more confidence in knowing what is in the ingredients in their food.

According  to www.verywellhealth.com, Dr. Fasano, director of the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research, reports that 20 million people suffer from gluten sensitivity (about 6-7% of the US population).

About the Developer

Ezra Gebreyesus knows from personal experience the dangers of eating out at restaurants with allergies.  With family members who may become dangerously ill from eating gluten, extreme care must be taken.

He thought there must be a better solution to help identify dangerous ingredients. So he went to work on a solution and  contacted the Mars Rising Network and had a provisional patent application filed. Working with Mars Rising Network, he had the invention designed and refined with the hope of turning this great idea into a commercial product.

He is actively seeking a company that would have an interest in partnering with him to get this product on the market.
